![]() these things are unrealistic but not unjustified, i think the lore justifies them. except for the lore, the lore is that the BCU chip in the back of your head shows you a HUD and a MAP among other things like crafting blueprints, SCUM is not a REALISM simulator its actually a comic you can read, also you are on a game show and the robots flying around are the cameras watching you so the TV viewers can see you, there is also when you start a killbox with 3 or more people the voice on the radio will say "i see there are a few of you here, we wouldnt want that to get boring, right audience?". I think Scum with these hardcore changes would make the game much more thrilling and more true to their claim that it's the most realistic multiplayer open world survival game. I've played Scum for a substantial amount of time and I have no clue what any town names are as I have no need to know what town im in when the map always tells me where to go, which I think is a waste of even having those signs. Originally posted by Dillinius Sandarius:Does anyone have an idea when the devs plan on getting rid of our location always being known on our map, or even the map-on-hand itself? And the names appearing above our squad mates head, will that be gone anytime soon? Scums biggest marketing gimmick is its attention to realism and being a hardcore survival game, but it seems more arcady in some ways compared to the likes of Dayz where you gotta know where you are by memory and road signs, and you gotta have personal markers/colours to tell friend from foe. If everything is limited, I don't think it's good because you can only walk one way and others are closed. Of course, I also fail with this, but then I know what has to be avoided or where I still have to work on it. I want to learn how to do it without aids and thereby ristrict myself to grow beyond myself and to gain more experience. Are there ways in which I can get to where I want to go much better?įor me, I rarely rely on technology, even when it is at my feet. Tactics is not only related to fighting in this case but also how do I get to point B, how can I improve it. Tactical overview is very important to me. Above all, I take a lot of time for what I do and have a lot of patience. That's why I also offered the Scout tutorial. Most of the time it is not worth the risk to me and only in exceptional cases do I defend myself in order to escape. Interesting, you are good with words Death! Its a survival on the contrary, can you confirm?Īnyway, you are trying to pass the mistake they made at the beginning (giving a GPS in the "best survival game on the market") in the current justification to keep it. It seems you are treating Scum as a Shooter game Death, Im wrong? Checking is always a disadvantage because you are distracted. Everyone has their area of expertise, everyone relies on the other and does what they can in their field of responsibility so that such situations no longer appear. Once the team has adjusted to its roles, it basically works by itself. ![]() I've already had many situations where my teammates (a team without a squad formation) first had to look at the map and then didn't see the danger. Others, however, have to and are cut off from the field of vision for this time. You have a clear advantage, because you no longer have to look at it. Originally posted by Deathwhisper:It's a question of perspective. In principle, as announced, you have a choice, just like in real life. Here, too, the freedom is pretty open and you can then decide for yourself. In principle, you can also form a team without creating a squad. With that you have reached a big milestone for yourself and even a double one, because you had the card but didn't use it for it. You will find that such small self-challenges are not that easy at the beginning, but if you manage to do it, you will find everything without even looking at the map. Meanwhile I know exactly where to start without looking at it. So I am learning the map as it is, right there. Because, I can't see anything through this map. Despite the available card, I do not use it at all, for example. You may have a card, but why not leave it to be used just to give yourself a challenge? The city names are available and there are also landmarks in the wilderness. Then savor it and test it until there is nothing left to test. ![]() :) But still, we have to prepare for the coming one first. There will certainly be a lot more to come in the course of development. ![]()
